Tom Blomqvist set for Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia cameo

MB Partners are delighted to announce that Tom Blomqvist will take part in this weekend’s round of Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, making a guest appearance in the series at Mantorp Park in Sweden.

Joining the series as a guest driver, Tom will run a unique, one-of-a-kind livery on his Porsche 911 GT3 - inspired by the colours that his father, rally legend Stig Blomqvist, drove to victory in the 1984 World Rally Championship.

Enjoying a successful 2020 campaign so far, Tom claimed a second-place podium finish at the Bathurst 12 Hours at the start of the year before making his Le Mans debut last month and taking fourth place at the revered Nürburgring 24 Hours. The 26-year-old also impressed on his Formula E call-up with Panasonic Jaguar Racing, reaching Super Pole on his very first day in the car.

Tom is excited to return to Sweden and is looking forward to learning both the track and the car.

“I'm looking forward to driving in Sweden again," Tom said. "This is where my racing career started in 2009. I know neither the car nor the track very well but I'm really looking forward to the challenge. The goal at Mantorp is to have fun first and foremost and secondly to do a good job - I'm a competitive person so of course I want to be involved and fight at the front.”

Tom will get his first taste of the series in Free Practice at 11:00 local time on Friday 2nd October, followed by qualifying at 13:00 and the first of three races at 16:15. The action continues on Saturday 3rd October with the remaining two races at 11:15 and 14:50 respectively.
