MB Partners are thrilled to announce that leading British racing driver Tom Blomqvist will join CUPRA EKS in the 2022 FIA eTouring Car World Cup (ETCR).
Joining CUPRA EKS, Tom will race the manufacturer’s 680bhp all-electric CUPRA e-Racer in the pioneering seven-round championship alongside Mattias Ekström, Jordi Gené and Adrien Tambay.
Beginning under the guise of Pure ETCR in 2021, the championship boasts a new, sustainable way of racing and features the most powerful touring cars ever produced in a thrilling rallycross-style series of races.
The CUPRA e-Racer boasts a top speed of 272km/h, delivers up to 500kW of power, peak torque of 960Nm and reaches 12,000 RPM.
Visiting a range of locations, the championship starts in Pau before visiting Istanbul Park, Hungaroring, Jarama, Vallelunga and Inje Speedium in Korea.
Commenting on the news, Tom can’t wait to get behind the wheel and drive a new, accessible and sustainable way of motor racing.
