Tom Blomqvist and his Meyer Shank Racing team fresh from their thrilling win at CTMP will be looking to keep the winning momentum going as the IMSA championship returns to the iconic Road America circuit for round seven of the championship.
Tom Blomqvist and teammate, Colin Braun, return to the wheel of the #60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Acura ARX-06 for the seventh event of the season in the GTP class.
Last year saw Tom and the MSR team run an incredibly fast, but unlucky race at the classic 4.048-mile Road America layout. A year ago, the team used a sensational pit stop to take the lead with 40 minutes remaining. The No. 60 Acura DPi ran second when it tagged the wall while under heavy pressure with eight minutes remaining. Despite losing bodywork and shredding a tire, the Acura managed to maintain speed and take the chequered flag in fourth, scoring key points on the way to the 2022 IMSA championship title.
Heading into the weekend, Tom currently occupies 6th in the drivers' standings on 1708 points with three rounds left to contest as the season reaches it's closing stages.
The weekend's action will be kickstarted with two free practice sessions at 12:05 and 16:15 respectively, before Saturday sees the all-important qualifying session at 14:15 which sets the grid for Sunday's 2 hour race which gets underway at 11:10.

“We’re coming off the back of a win the last time out. The win was good and the morale of the team is high. We haven't really got much to lose. The goal is to try and win the race, go aggressive in terms of strategy or whatever that may be. It’s a new track surface and apparently there is a lot more grip. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the calendar. Last year we had a tricky race, it didn’t go to plan, so I’m excited to get back at one of these great tracks. Hopefully we can continue that run of recent form and go for another victory.”
