Monaco next up for Blomqvist

Tom Blomqvist and the NIO 333 FE Team head to the glamorous streets of Monte Carlo for this weekend’s Monaco E-Prix.

Returning to the calendar for the first time since 2019, the Monaco E-Prix makes a much anticipated return and will, for the time in Formula E’s history, see the cars race around the full 3.330km Grand Prix circuit.

It will also mark the first time Tom has raced around the iconic streets, with the Brit looking forward to taking on some of the circuit’s most famous corners such as Tabac, the Swimming Pool chicane and Rascasse.

Last time out in Valencia, Tom excelled in mixed weather conditions to record his best-ever Formula E qualifying result with fourth place on the grid for the second race. Having scored points in five of the opening six races, the team will be aiming for similar success this weekend.

Returning to a one-day format, Saturday will see the 24 drivers take to the track with the opening Free Practice session beginning at 08:00 local time (07:00 BST). The second Free Practice session will take place at 10:15 local time (09:15 BST) followed by the all-important qualifying session at 12:00 local time (11:00 BST). Round seven of the championship will get underway later in the afternoon at 16:00 local time (15:00 BST).

Live coverage in the UK will be available across the weekend through BBC Sport, BBC iPlayer, the BBC Red Button and Eurosport.

“I can’t wait to get out on track this weekend,” Tom said. “Monaco is one of the most iconic circuits in the world and is one that every driver wants to race at so I’m really excited we’re here. We had a mixed weekend in Valencia so we’ll aim for a more straightforward race this time around. As a team, we’re really happy with how the season has gone so far and we’re pretty confident we can be back in the top ten this weekend.”
