Joint championship lead for Blomqvist after second place at Laguna Seca

• The team qualified second on the grid for the Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship at Laguna Seca
• Tom and team mate Oliver Jarvis were locked in a titanic, race-long battle for the win - crossing the finish line just 1.080s behind the #10 Acura DPi
• Utilising race strategy, the team undercut their rivals as Tom took the lead with 90 minutes to go
• Hampered by GT traffic, Tom found himself side-by-side with the #10 who retook the lead through the Corkscrew
• After the final round of pitstops, Tom set a new race lap record as he continued his hunt for the win, ultimately catching the #10 with 15 minutes to go but traffic denied him the chance to make his way past
• Tom now occupies joint lead of the championship standings with the #10 crew - locked on 1325 points
• Round five of the championship will take Tom to Mid-Ohio on the weekend of May 13-15

“We jumped into the lead and then we came across a bunch of absolute maniacs out there. I got into the worst possible traffic at the worst time. Filipe (Albuquerque) was pretty forceful up at the Corkscrew and I just couldn’t get through, which messed up my race really. It was just too difficult to pass on normal running and I couldn’t get a good opportunity with the traffic. It was a shame because our car was the fastest one today, and we should’ve won the race. Disappointed, actually very, very disappointed. I’m happy we had a really quick car, and made huge progress in the package, so I’m very, very positive about that moving forward. So I have to thank the team for that but I’m still disappointed.”
