Fourth place for Blomqvist after thrilling battle at Long Beach

• Tom qualified third on the grid for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach
• Climbing to second place in the opening exchanges, Tom began to fight for the lead of the race
• Handing over to team mate Oliver Jarvis at the halfway mark of the 100-minute race, a slew of caution periods closed the field together
• As the race drew to a close, the #60 Meyer Shank Racing machine was locked in a tight battle for the remaining podium spot
• Dropping to fourth, the team crossed the finish line just 0.966s shy of third place
• Tom remains third in the championship standings, just 32 points behind the leaders
• Round four of the campaign will take Tom to Laguna Seca on April 29 to 1 May

“I’m pretty disappointed, because we did everything right this weekend. We really made a good step with the car and we were really competitive. My first stint was good, though I made a bad call with the traffic, but we were running third quite comfortably with no drama and the car was working well. We lost a bit of pace there at the end and unfortunately, it got a bit close with Olly (Jarvis) and the others and we lost out on third. When you’re running third for most of the race, a podium would have been nice – but it’s very promising for the upcoming events.” - Tom Blomqvist
